Jirka Rysavy, the founder of Igniton, is a highly successful entrepreneur who built several billion-dollar companies, including Corporate Express, which grew rapidly to become Colorado’s largest privately owned company with $4.7 billion in revenue before its acquisition by Staples.
He also pioneered organic food retail with Crystal Market, the foundation of Wild Oats, later acquired by Whole Foods. A child math prodigy and former athletic champion from the Czech Republic, Jirka also founded Gaia Inc. (NASDAQ: GAIA), a digital streaming platform focused on conscious media, personal growth, and spirituality.
Gaia, Inc which owns two-thirds of Igniton, offers a vast library of films, documentaries, yoga classes, and transformational content.
Jirka’s original inspiration for Igniton was to create products which could help to expand consciousness. After becoming interested in the subatomic, quasi-particles described in advanced research (known to ancients and known now as ignitons), Jirka was inspired by the idea of embedding ignitons to supplements that work with the human body.
Peer-reviewed scientific research inspired this mission — and from that vision, Igniton, named after the Greek word for fire, was born.
