Rob Lawless believes that every human interaction, no matter how brief, holds the potential to change your life. A Finance graduate of Penn State, Rob began his career in Strategy & Operations at Deloitte Consulting before taking a leap into startups with venture-backed RJMetrics. While succeeding professionally, he realized something was missing. The genuine connection he had experienced in college had faded into transactional conversations and calendar invites.
So in November 2015, Rob made a bold decision. He set a goal to meet 10,000 people for one hour each, simply to listen to their stories. What started as a personal experiment quickly became an inspiring movement. After RJMetrics was acquired in 2016, Rob committed to the project full time.
Since then, he has met more than 7,000 people across 90+ countries, traveled across the U.S. six times over and built a living laboratory on what makes relationships meaningful, productive and lasting. His work has been featured on the TODAY Show with Hoda & Jenna, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and The Kelly Clarkson Show, where an entire audience was filled with people he met through the project.
Today, Rob shares the practical insights behind those thousands of conversations, helping organizations build stronger cultures, deepen client relationships and create workplaces where people feel seen, valued, and connected.
